A. Prerequisites for Transfer:

• 60-Day Lock: A domain cannot be transferred within 60 days of initial registration, a previous transfer, or a significant change to the registrant’s contact information (due to the Transfer Policy).

• Unlocked Status: The domain must be “unlocked” at the current registrar. This prevents unauthorized transfers.

• Valid Authorization Code (EPP Code): You must obtain a unique code from your current registrar to authorize the transfer. This is like a password for your domain.

• Admin Contact Approval: The transfer initiation email is sent to the domain’s administrative contact listed in the WHOIS database. They must approve the transfer.

• Domain Status: The domain must not be expired, involved in a legal dispute, or held due to payment issues.

Domain Renewal Policy

• Automatic Renewal: Domains are set to auto-renew 30 days before their expiration date to prevent accidental loss.
• Pricing: Our renewal fees are structured to reflect the premium, non-shared environment we provide. Prices may vary slightly compared to local shared hosting providers, as you are investing in a dedicated slice of a high-performance server with enhanced resources.
• Notifications: You will receive renewal reminders via email well in advance of the renewal date.

Domain Transfer-Out Policy

Our Secure Transfer Process:

To initiate a domain transfer away from Ibiz Media, please follow these steps:

1. Formal Request: Send a formal domain transfer request to our support team from your registered email address.
2. Transfer Facilitation Fee: A non-refundable facilitation fee of Ksh 3,500/= is required to initiate the technical and administrative process. This fee covers the dedicated resources required to securely prepare and release your domain from our private server environment.

3. EPP Code Retrieval: Upon confirmation of payment, our technical team will initiate a request for the EPP (Authorization) code. Due to our secure, bureaucratic verification procedures designed to protect your asset, this code can take up to 5-7 business days to be generated and reflected on our account for release.
4. Managed Handover: Unlike standard cPanel-to-cPanel transfers, which are incompatible with our advanced private server architecture, our technical team will manage the preparation of your website files and database for migration. The actual transfer process, once the EPP code is provided, typically takes 2-3 business days, dependent on the size of the website files for download and upload.

Important Considerations for Your Transfer:

• Server Environment Compatibility: Please note that Ibiz Media hosts websites on an optimized, high-performance VPS with unlimited bandwidth, enhanced speeds (via LiteSpeed servers), and a secure, monitored environment. We cannot guarantee that your website will function identically on a new hosting provider. The new host’s server limitations, file capacity, memory allocation, and software specifications may differ significantly from our environment and could affect website performance and functionality.
• Email & Data Migration: The migration of email accounts and data is a complex process. There is a possibility that previous emails may not be transferred and could take up to 10 days to potentially recover from our backup systems, though recovery is not assured. We strongly advise you to back up all critical emails locally before the transfer is initiated.
